#ManiMonday / Sally Hansen (Sugar Coat) Sour Apple

Sally Hansen (Sugar Coat) Sour Apple

Happy Monday! I've got a mani that's from the picture vault. This is Sally Hansen Sour Apple. This is from the Sugar Coat collection, a textured collection that came out in 2013. If you have been a long time follower of the blog, meaning from when I only focused on nail polish, you'll know that the texture finish is my absolute favorite.

Sour Apple is a mint green creme with a textured finish. Its on the sheer side, but I was able to do three moderate coats on one hand (the one shown) and two thicker coats. The nails that had two coats looked pretty similar those that had three, however I did notice they chipped much easier.

I have to admit, I'm a huge fan of this color. I love how much it stands out.

Formula-wise, this was pretty easy to work with and did dry down much better using the thinner coats. However, regardless of that, it did dry down and get that good texture finish.

And now for a close-up of the texture. It looks pretty weird up close, but it really is awesome. I can't think of what candies they remind me of..

And now a brush shot. I like that you can see the little grains of whatever that is that makes the texture finish (I'll update this in the future).

From what I remember, this didn't stain my nails either. As with most texture polishes, these can chip pretty easy so while they're good for a quick mani, don't expect 7-day wear.

Overall, I love this particular polish was pretty wow'd by the color. I think it definitely stands out compared to all the other texture finish polishes, but so does the rest of the first release of this collection.

What are your thoughts? Would you be pining for this or are you over texture finish polishes?
